Spending MANY hours yesterday perfecting my latest oil painting! It will be one of my best! I also had a strange dream this morning that the strips of oil paint that I squeezed out turned into tiny snakes! ( I guess a reference to the Biblical theme of Adam and Eve tempted by the snake in my artwork!) And also in my dream, Rembrant himself was giving me oil painting tips! .....Or was it Leonardo Da Vinci?!!! One of the Great Masters, that is for sure! That said, I am creating a marvelous, imaginative painting! It's continual "evolution" involves alot of time, but the finished outcome will be well worth it.

It is raining ALOT today here in NJ! Driving my mother around to various places and then will be working on my latest oil painting again today! It has been evolving and changing alot as I finish it! It has been the "most changed" oil painting I have ever done, but it is going to be one of my best! I find that when I listen to music and free my inhibitions, the painting flows more easily! I have been very creative with it and try to trust my first instincts and just ENJOY the process! I hear the church bells ringing again today so that is always a good sign!
I have been working very hard on my latest oil painting, but like most "perfectionists," I have been "changing" and "re-doing" parts of it. This painting keeps "evolving" for the better each and every day! I feel it will be one of my best works to date! I also have been reading a wonderful book about Leonardo Da Vinci! The book describes him as a master painter as well as a genious in other areas as well! Interestingly, he also had plans to reconstruct the architectural aspects of parts of Italy which surprisingly were never used. It also tells of his attempt at creating a huge bronze horse, only to have the "bronze" that was to be used for it taken away and used for creating canons as weapons. The book's main theme, however, is to describe his painting of "The Last Supper" which was the work of art he is most remembered by. I, myself, am truely inspired by this book and I am using this inspiration in my latest large painting! I hope to have it completed soon! The warmer weather is coming and it will not be as cold in my studio so that will certainly help alot!
