Getting prepared for the Hurricane! BUT POSTING MY LATEST ARTWORK! I will be unavailable on the computer for a while due to the arrival of Hurricane Sandy! Hope to be able to post as long as I can until I have to evacuate! Until then, I hope you enjoy my new drawings!
Hurricane Sandy is coming and it does not look good! I may try and post my latest artwork in the next day or so before I have to evacuate! I may not be posting anything for an unspecified period after that so be advised to wait until at least the storm is over and I have time to clean up if necessary and get things back in business....including the computer!
Unsettling thoughts about the weather.......I may have to start moving my artwork upstairs in case Hurricane Sandy hits the East Coast! I will be monitoring it's projected path on the various weather stations. If the hurricane hits and causes flooding, my computer correspondence may be curtailed for an unspecified period of time. I will keep all of my "followers" posted regarding this. I am really hoping the Hurricane's path will not be that "direct" and cause much of a problem. Otherwise I will be making art as usual that I hope to be posting soon.
Busy weekend! Detailing some new works I have been working on. .....And of course tonight...watching the Presidential Debate!
Busy day today! Running errands today! Taking care of my sick kitty today too! I hope to do some more artwork tonight as my little hamster plays in his excercise ball!
Emotion is the artist's best friend. Some of my best works were created in times of extreme emotion. Emotion and passion in paintings are more valuable than any art class that you could ever take. Anger is your friend. Sadness is your friend. A sense of fear is your friend. And yes....love, and happiness are your friends too! Any of these emotions, especially an extreme form of them is your best friend when it comes to making art! So the next time you get angry at something or someone, grab your pencil or paint brush and go to town! Because these emotions will bring out something great in your work that might not be capable in an "ordinary state of mind"!
Raining very heavy today! Not a very good day today, but contemplating some new images for my art. May post my latest works soon. Possibly initially without the video. They are much too good to hold back much longer. I will have to see.
VERY busy day today! Getting more meds for my sick kitty......getting some items from store.......and of course making art! I find the graphite pencil drawing very good for me lately. It is a very ridged, dry my medium and quite good at forcing an artist to pay greater attention to all the "details" of a picture whereas painting is wet...and much looser in it's approach although an artist can "tighten" it as much as he wants along the way. I will be switching to oil painting soon....and not sure which drawings I may make paintings from or just use as ideas for paintings. Perhaps I will create another idea for my paintings.....my head is always swimming with "ideas"!
I notice some artists are selling prints of their work......nice idea! Having alot of fans of your artwork will determine how successful an artist is in doing this! My work, for the past couple of months has been in pencil, but would like to switch back to color for a while also.....definitely oil paints eventually, but possibly oil "sticks" or colored pencil as well. Alot of ideas for my artwork are swimming around in my head! I will let all of my "fans" know about these ideas in the future!
Creative day today! Collaborating with someone on some music for my new video of my artwork! Should be great! Finishing my new drawings and setting up ideas for new oil paintings! Watching the Presidential Debate tonight also!
