How does one find "inspiration" for their artwork? Does an artist merely look at a photograph they want to paint and then copy it to canvas? Does an artist find someone or something "beautiful to paint or draw and then copy it to canvas or paper? Or can the process be a bit more complicated than that. For me, personally as an artist, I have to really "relate" to a particular subject matter in some way. For my religious art, it is a totally spiritual "connection". For other subjects it may be putting the figures in a different time and space as to create an "other worldly" existence. Something not particularly of this present time of existence. I am motivated more by "feeling" and "emotion" rather than just manifesting a physical representation of something. This is very important to me in my work and how I create it.
