Creating movies of my large paintings and smaller drawings. I can't help think how the "way" one views an image affects how it is "perceived" visually. Still images are fine, however, a "detailed" view of a painting via a "moving image" can be quite "astounding" to say the least. I think it is important to remember that in order to actually "see" a painting or other art medium, in it's most pure, accurate form it is always best to view it in person, or at least through a video image of it.
The "best" art is that which is inspired by poetic design, spiritual elements, daydream fantasies, and love. The worst art is that which is cold, unemotional, art that only produces a "copy" of reality.
It is said that "everything happens for a reason". But perhaps it is the "way" we "see" and "learn" from these experiences that often affects how these particular circomstances affect our lives. Can't help but think of when I was recently trying to follow directions to a particular place in New Brunswick, NJ. and suddenly became.....lost. However, as I continued trying to find my destination, I came across a familiar stretch of highway that I knew as a college student. I used to walk back and forth from an art store in Highland Park to the art school I was attending in New Brunswick with large, heavy amounts of art supplies. At the time, I used to curse the long, arduous journey back and forth. However, if it was not for going on these "walks", I would have never found my destination I was looking for years later! The fact that I recognized the location, helped me find where I had to go. I have to admit, I really laughed when I thought about this because in the end, this "experience" actually "helped" me. ..........Is "ALL" of life like that? Is one life experience "deliberately" tied to another? Are certain "people" we meet merely "stepping stones" upon which we meet other people? Are places we travel to merely leading us to other destinations? Is the entire universe tied to something else? Something ....bigger....perhaps a supreme being?.......GOD?......YES! I definitely think they are!
I am really excited to tell all my followers that I have been working on a video to post on my website! STAY TUNED!
Meditating upon some new ideas and images for new work while I continue to finish my artwork already in progress. I am always very "thoughtful" when creating my images. The "meaning" and "intent" behind my work is just as important to me as the images themselves. If not for that....the intent....why would someone want to create art? Even elements of "pure beauty" in art should have some forethought as to "how" and "why" the artist wants the viewer to get a certain "reaction" or "emotion" from viewing his work.
One of the best things about visual "artists" is that there is such a "diversity" of talent in the artworld today! So many styles, so many different mediums! It is exciting to see so many different people doing so many different types of artwork and how the computer and all the social networks allows for such great freedom of expression! We are living in an amazing time of talent and technology!
I am constantly bombarded by different ideas of what happens when you die.......where does one ..."go". While I think that everybody has a right to their own "idea" of what happens when you die, I tend to thing that some ideas are totally incorrect. For instance, some people think that when you die...there is..."nothing"....you ceast to exist. For me, given all the "complexities" of "creation", I find this totally implausable. Also, when studying astrology and the universe and the intricate and complex mathematical science behind it, I realize there must be a supreme "creator". Even the man-made "art" on earth, I have learned, is created using mathematically based, architectural concepts related to a supreme "creator"......GOD. To me, the evidence is VERY clear. Quite simply, GOD is the creator and when you die......heaven will await you!
it is said that "alchemy" has to do with the relationship between "Macrocosm" and "Microcosm". This theory substantiates the fact that certain specific mathematical designs are used to create some of the greatest works of art in human history, for example the great pyramids of Gaza, and Albrecht Durer's painting "Melancholia One". These, and other great works of art all have a relationship between astronomy, geometry, music and numbers. This idea suggests that the way in which some of the great works of art in history were created have a relationship to the universe and a higher plane of exhistence. It is a theory that I am investigating and studying further to perhaps use in my own artistic creations.
Why is "religious" art important? Why should there be a need to document things through art regarding religion? Well, to start with, all of the great civilizatiions from Egypt, to the Mayans, and the Christians have all documented the historical relevance of their religion through "art". Art, in itself, has always been a way for man to document and describe his religious beliefs, the "meaning" of his life, and his relevance in the world. Religious art has always been "beautiful" to look at, but it is crucial to remember it's importance to each civilization and the way they want future generations who view it to remember them.
