Well, I FINALLY was able to come back home yesterday after evacuating for a LONG time! I would have only stayed away for about half as long, but the SECOND storm....the NOREASTER, made that impossible! It would also have been dangerous driving back due to the power outages and traffic lights that had lost power! Fortunately, my house did NOT flood! Nor was there any wind damage except for some fallen branches. We did loose power for a few days though. I had prayed to God for the storm to pass by my house and leave it unscathed&made a final gesture of blessing myself with the sign of the cross before I drove away from the house. I guess it worked! During the power outage that occurred, I prayed for the power to come back on and it did a few minutes after I prayed! I HAVE FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES! LOL! NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PRAYING TO GOD! I did have alot of LED flashlights with ALOT of BATTERIES! I positioned the flashlight upwards and the circular light on the dark ceiling looked like a full moon in the bedroom! My imagination was trying to make a bad situation better! THE GOOD NEWS IS, THAT I WAS ABLE TO DO ALOT OF BEAUTIFUL DRAWINGS DURING MY EVACUATION WHICH I HOPE TO POST SOON! .......UNFORTUNATELY, THE BAD NEWS IS THAT MY WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, DEAR LITTLE CAT "CHECKERS" DIED OF CANCER YESTERDAY MORNING AT APPROXIMATELY 6AM. I am grieving his death terribly and have been trying to cope by drawing pictures of him and other subjects. I evacuated with him to make sure he received the medications he was prescribed and was in a safe, caring environment during Hurricane Sandy and the Noreaster. I will miss him dearly!
